This year in particular, we all depended on those we could trust to keep us safe. I am thankful for our staff who showed up everyday to ensure that kids and families across Tarrant County had a safe place to go during a time of such uncertainty.
As the Thanksgiving holiday nears, I am proud to share a letter of gratitude from a Club parent who depended on our organization and our staff to be a beacon of hope for her own family this year. The letter reads:
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County’s staff have been an absolute Godsend for me and my children. I am a single mother of 2 boys. I often have to work multiple jobs, so childcare is a vital necessity for me. My boys have attended a few different childcares and only one other has come close to the support and love that we receive from Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County’s Main Branch. We have been members for a few years now, starting with holidays and summer vacation, and attending the after school care portion since last winter. We were blessed to be able to attend the Club when the school began virtually this year. I can’t even tell you how much my boys lit up and their overall mental well-being increased by being able to attend. The staff helped them through their school assignments, and even reached out to my son’s teacher when there was a question on something. The staff has made the Club a safe, comfortable, and dependable place to be. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have the peace of mind that my boys are cared for by such amazing people, in such a well-run space, by such a generous organization.
