Perhaps the best part of the holiday season is experiencing the feeling of hope, the joy of giving and the power of kind acts from loved ones and strangers alike.
At the Club, it is our mission to help young people reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. This holiday season, Club members at our Morningside Middle School lived out their full potential as caring citizens with their kind acts and words for their fellow community members.
Determined to spread holiday hope, our kids worked together to build goodie bags for individuals experiencing homelessness. The bags were filled with essential items such as toilet paper, hand sanitizer, shampoo, toothbrushes and more. The last item placed in each of the 150 bags was a handwritten note by our kids. Some of the messages read:
- “Whoever gets this note I want you to know that we’re in this together.”
- “Stay safe, don’t give up hope!”
- “Even though I don’t know you, I hope you have the best day.”
- “Hope is here and near.”
During this difficult year, our kids have held onto the hope of a brighter future – and now they are on a mission to spread that hope. This holiday season and beyond, we hope to continue teaching our young people the power of simple acts of kindness.
Together we can,
