Teens on a Mission

Published by: BGCGTC-LIVE

Teens are the future. They are also on a mission to make the world a better place.

This spring, our organization joined forces with Tarrant County teen-led clothing business, Dyenosaur Apparel, to promote our advocacy program, Agenda for Youth. Our Clubs worked with the young entrepreneurs of Dyenosaur Apparel to create a “Safe Space” tie-dye t-shirt to highlight our 2021 Agenda for Youth priority issue of youth safety and emotional wellness.

Dyenosaur Apparel is led by a group of 16-year-old Arlington Martin High School students on a mission to give back to their community. The young entrepreneurs sought out a partnership with the Club in order to amplify the voices of our Club teens who are also on a mission. Teens at the Club have been united in their effort to work with Club leaders and external partners to tackle the issues teens across the county, and country, are currently facing around physical safety, mental health and socio-emotional wellness.

“Through our partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County, we were able to spread our message of uplifting youth through the Boys & Girls Clubs platform, celebrate creativity, and spotlight POC youth artists around DFW. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County has allowed us to grow as a business and instilled in us the importance of making a difference within the community. Never before have we been so inspired and honored to work among such passionate leaders united with the common goal of giving back.

With our “Safe Space” t-shirt design, we were able to bring attention to the importance of a safe space for the youth. It is important that our community is able to provide a safe environment for the upcoming generation both inside and outside our homes. This is exactly what our design portrays. The heart in the center signifies love and care while the dancers outside represent fun and inclusion! No one should feel left out nor be denied the chance of comfort.

We are so thankful to the Boys and Girls Club for giving us this opportunity to help share our message and give our artists a chance to branch out.” – Vivian Nguyen, Founder of Dyenosaur Apparel

Half of the proceeds from the t-shirt collection will be donated to our organization. To help support the our mission and Dyenosaur Apparel, you can purchase apparel from the “Safe Space” collection here
