FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan 4, 2022 Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County (BGCGTC) begins construction on a $1.5 million project, Blue Door Kitchen, as a holistic solution to prepare youth for culinary/restaurant employment, provide 3,500 fresh daily meals to Club members, and engage with partners in the community.
“Covid challenged us to innovate in ways we help kids succeed, and working with community partners throughout the region quickly illustrated how leveraging our collective strength and resources can create real solutions in how children and families eat every day,” said BGCGTC CEO & President, Daphne Barlow Stigliano. “Jackson-Shaw has shared in the commitment to help kids reach their full potential from day one, and we are incredibly grateful to their support.”
Jackson-Shaw has made a significant contribution towards the full commercial kitchen renovation with a social enterprise restaurant space at BGCGTC’s Martin Branch (3123 Avenue G. Fort Worth, Texas 76105). Construction is expected to complete in April 2023. Limited operating and capital partnership opportunities are available.
“Jackson-Shaw has partnered with Boys and Girls Clubs in Tarrant County and other cities for many years. Our team is passionate about helping young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their potential,” said Jackson-Shaw President and Chief Executive Officer Michele Wheeler. “Also, good corporate citizenship toward the communities and commercial real estate sectors in which we operate is always top of mind.”
