The workforce landscape is undergoing drastic changes with technological innovations, the demand for new skills, and the impact of a global pandemic.
To help young people meet the workforce challenges of tomorrow, they need safe spaces, positive mentorship, and work experiences today.
That’s where Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County comes in. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County are closing the opportunity and job readiness gap by preparing youth for success in their first job and helping them develop a plan to pursue the career of their dreams.
Program Offerings
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County offers three evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and age appropriate prevention programs, Too Good for Drugs, Positive Action, and Curriculum Based Support Group to school-aged youth in a variety of settings. These programs increase critical social-emotional skills youth need in order to be their best selves now and in the future. We are also pleased to be able to offer no cost counseling services to our members through the Straight Talk program.

Straight Talk
Our Straight Talk program is a trauma-informed counseling program designed to provide assessments of mental health, individual and group counseling, and crisis management to Club members and their families. If you have a child in need of counseling services, please contact our counselor at rcole@bgcgtc.org or simply click the icon above.
Positive Action Program
Our Positive Action program teaches social-emotional learning skills such as self-concept, positive actions for your body and mind, managing yourself responsibly, treating others the way you like to be treated, telling yourself the truth, and improving yourself continually which has been found to increase mental health and positive behavior and to reduce substance use, bullying, violence, and truancy in youth.
Too Good for Drugs
Our Too Good for Drugs teaches social-emotional learning skills such as goal setting, making good decisions, identifying and managing emotions, effective communication, bonding, and relationships, making healthy choices, peer pressure refusal skills, and stress management in order to reduce antisocial and substance use behaviors and to increase resiliency in youth.
Curriculum Based Support Group
Our Curriculum Based Support Group focuses on increasing the protective factors of autonomy, social competence, interdependence, problem-solving, and sense of purpose in order to reduce anti-social attitudes and rebellious behavior and to increase coping and social skills. Recent data has found that the curriculum will help to mitigate Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
