Ensuring Child Safety is Fundamental to the Mission of BGCGTC
Commitment to Child Safety
Child safety is a cornerstone of the Boys & Girls Clubs’ mission. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County ensures that every member feels a sense of belonging and is protected both emotionally and physically through high-quality programs and services.
Annual Staff and Volunteer Training
All staff and volunteers are required to undergo annual training on comprehensive safety policies. This membership requirement reinforces the Club’s commitment to safeguarding its members and creating a secure environment.
Access to Innovative Safety Training
Club employees benefit from a wide range of cutting-edge safety training programs offered by Boys & Girls Clubs of America and partner organizations. These include seminars, conferences, webinars, and a semi-annual safety symposium.
Collaboration with Leading Safety Experts
The Clubs work closely with renowned third-party safety experts such as Praesidium, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and the National Children’s Advocacy Center. These partnerships provide crucial guidance in shaping and improving safety policies and practices.
Prominent Safety Resources
Boys & Girls Clubs are required to display essential safety resources, such as the Crisis Text Line, a confidential text messaging service for youth, and the Child Safety Helpline, ensuring that members have easy access to support when needed.
