Workforce
Readiness

At Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County, we prepare young people for the future by teaching essential skills like sound judgment, creativity, decision-making, communication, and collaboration—qualities highly valued by today’s employers. We believe that when every young person has access to purposeful, out-of-school opportunities that foster workforce readiness, they are set on a path to Great Futures.

Our evidence-informed Workforce Readiness approach prioritizes holistic skill development and career exposure, ensuring that every Club member, from age six through their teen years, gains the knowledge, abilities, and experiences needed to thrive in both life and work.

Our Workforce Readiness framework is built on three key components:

  • Explore: Career exploration introduces members to a wide range of careers and pathways, helping them envision futures that align with their passions and goals.
  • Develop: Starting as early as age six, members build essential life and work skills through their Club experiences. They also acquire job-specific technical skills to prepare for meaningful employment.
  • Apply: Members apply their skills in real-world work settings, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and confidence.

Through this focus on workforce readiness, we are shaping today’s youth into tomorrow’s scientists, healthcare providers, civic leaders, educators, engineers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and creators of industries and workplaces that we can’t yet imagine.
